Dr. Stauffer, Founder and CEO
Dr. Stauffer is the Chairman of the Board of Biofuse Medical Technologies, a Melbourne, FL based Surgical Device Development company. He also co-founded oncology focused Kadia Biopharma and serves as a Board Member for this Miami, FL based venture capital backed start-up.
In 2023 he joined the Scientific Advisory Board of GATC Health, a California based AI technology company focused on advancing drug discovery and disease prediction.
He is currently the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Antibe Therapeutics in Toronto, Canada. With more than 25 years of clinical practice and research/development experience, he has operated as a senior executive in various public and private specialty pharma and biotech companies.

Joe received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated from the Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine residency program at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital. He earned his MBA via a joint program (TRIUM) between New York University, the London School of Economics, and the HEC School of Management in Paris.
This led to a part-time appointment as a clinical instructor and assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he served for 16 years.
Dr. Stauffer served 10 years as a naval medical officer and received an honorable discharge as a Lieutenant Commander. Currently, he maintains active medical licenses in Pennsylvania and Florida.
Throughout his career, Dr. Stauffer has held various leadership positions, including Global Medical Director at Abbott Laboratories, Alpharma, Ikaria and others. Early in his career he worked at the FDA as a Medical Officer.
Dr. Stauffer is deeply committed to advancing the field of drug/device development and clinical practice. This is evident through his numerous professional affiliations.
He is a founding member of IMMPACT and participates in the European Commission's Health Initiative for Research and Innovation. For his contributions, Dr. Stauffer was included in the list of 100 Most Inspiring People by PharmaVOICE magazine in 2007.
